About

One Hometeam Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding education, awareness, and access to mental health services for athletes and individuals in need. The Foundation exists to support emotional wellbeing, resilience, and personal development by creating programs that integrate mental health into real world environments sports, schools, teams, and communities. The Foundation was built by leaders whose backgrounds span professional athletics, military service, and mental health performance work, bringing both credibility and lived experience to the mission.

Lewis Brinson, former outfielder for the Miami Marlins, brings firsthand understanding of the mental demands placed on athletes at the highest levels of competition. His experience navigating performance, pressure, identity, and transition informs the Foundation’s athlete-centered approach to mental health awareness and mentorship.

Joel Chin, a former United States Marine, contributes a perspective rooted in discipline, service, leadership, and resilience. His background reinforces the Foundation’s commitment to structure, accountability, and the importance of mental preparedness in high-stress environments.

Trevor Barlow, founder of HTFT, Mental Health & Performance, is a former professional athlete whose current work and past pro experience bridges mental health, performance, and personal development. Through HTFT, Trevor has spent time working with athletes, teams, families, businesses, and professionaos to build sustainable mental frameworks that support both wellbeing and performance. His leadership helps guide the Foundation’s programming, partnerships, and long term vision.

While One Hometeam Foundation and HTFT, Mental Health & Performance operate as independent organizations, they align closely in mission and philosophy, believing that optimal mental health requires education, access, movement, and consistent support systems.

Together, the Foundation’s leadership works to create meaningful impact across South Florida and beyond, supporting teams, clubs, schools, and communities while advancing a more proactive, visible, and practical approach to mental health and overall wellbeing.
